Week 3 in Washington

Published by gelfling at 11:10 pm under Cooking Edit This

I’ve been in WA, for about 3 weeks now.  Still haven’t found a job, but perhaps I should open my search to more than just baking and pastry.  I graduated in October from Le Cordon Bleu in Orlando, FL.  I did just the baking and pastry program, because I love to cook at home and needed a new career that I would love.  I’m too picky of an eater to be a regular chef I think.  I don’t eat any red meat.  I don’t eat eggs, unless they are in a baked good where you can’t taste them.

I haven’t really cooked anything in 6 months.  Instead of going to the Northwest like we planned, we stopped by Tucson, AZ for a job opportunity for my husband, but it ended up bombing because of the asshole owners.  I couldn’t find work there at all, at least that was decent.  I got pretty depressed and just didn’t cook at all.  Now that we finally made it to WA, we are both super happy, and I’ve been making huge meals for everyone in the house.  We decided to have Thanksgiving in June yesterday.  Made a turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans with almonds, rolls, cranberry sauce, and I made two pumpkin pies from scratch.
